We got hired last Thursday, July 8, for a function on Monday, July 12. It was for a picnic for about 100 people. ~ Totally last minute, right? You usually don’t call people up, 4 days before an event and ask them to cook for 100 people. It was simple picnic food, but still…. ~
When we went out to NY last May, we used our credit card. We seldom use it and if/when we do, we pay the balance in full. This has been our policy for years. We do not believe it is right to be in debt when that debt can be avoided. Obviously, things like a house is necessary. But to take out a loan for a car? That, in most cases, can be avoided. As the days and weeks were going by, we thought we had enough in the bank to pay the bill. When Adam sat down last Sunday and recorded receipts, he realized that in fact, did not have enough.
The check was deposited yesterday for the function last Monday. The credit card bill was paid today. Without that check, we would not have had enough to pay that bill in full.
Do you catch that?
God knew our need, and provided an answer for that need, before we even knew there was a need.
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
