And the walls go up! (part 1)

Everything was set for the coming weekend of November 4, 2016. The cement was all cured, so we ordered all of the necessary lumber, sheeting, house wrap, trusses,… you know, house building supplies. We met the delivery truck at the property.

The day was bright and clear, making for a good start for the walls! We were all very excited for this day, for we had waited and waited to begin building. Adam’s father Don, his brother Benjamin, our friend George, & our good friends Abe & Samantha came to help. Little did we know then that Abe had purposed in his heart to help us the entire way. They came up to Crandon every weekend we were working, until we were ready for the rough in electrical & plumbing! They are amazing friends!!

We got a lot done that first day.

Even Samuel is getting in on the work!
Getting those studs square and level.

And there’s the 1st wall! It’s Adam & I’s bedroom window.
Out initial thought was to sheet each wall before we put it up. Ahh, no. It was way too heavy!
Hey George! That is the boy’s bedroom window wall.
There’s so much work to do, it takes us all to work together!

Working our way down the back side of the house. The wall on the ground is the wall between the walk-in cooler and the commercial kitchen.
Here is the south side of the house. The ladder is standing in what will be our bedroom closet.

This is the south side of the house. The washroom doorway is at the end of the wall there, with Adam & I’s bathroom window next to it.

Here we are at the end of the day. We got so much done! Praise the Lord!
