Now there is proof I get up before the sun

Okay, well my on-going intentions of getting up before my children didn’t work today. Malachi was awake before 6:30 am. And, consequently, before I was up yet. Realizing that I wasn’t going to have that time alone with myself (most morning I don’t anyway. Malachi has the “I’m awake early” gene that has seemed to skip me) and I laid in bed for awhile. At 6:50 am or so, I got out of bed, got dressed and made my bed. Upon opening the door, there is Grace coming out of the bathroom (the gene didn’t skip her). Okay, I though. 2 of them before 7 am. I can handle that. I finished in the bathroom myself and headed to the boys room. Oh great. Isaac is awake too. So the children get/are dressed and we head downstairs. I look at the clock and it states 7:07 am.

Well, I guess I have a lot of stuff to do today anyway. Isaac’s birthday party is tomorrow and I need to do some cleaning. Not a whole lot, since I stay on top of it throughout the week. But the bathrooms need to be cleaned, the school room and living room picked up and the guest room cleaned. I normally wouldn’t bother about the guest room, since no one is spending the night. But, Adam’s grandfather and soon-to-be-wife (yes, he’s 88 and getting married again. Imagine that!) are supposed to come to the party. When they marry, they will not be living in the area and if/when they come to stay, they might be staying with us. In our guest room. Our very messy, dirty, cluttered guest room. So I though it might be a good idea for my to clean it since she (the soon-to-be-wife) has never been here. The husband’s probably won’t understand. In fact, if asked, mine would probably say, “Who cares? Just shut the door.” But that’s not really the point. That door has a way of always being opened, even after telling little fingers not to go in there. And tomorrow, we will have 80 little fingers around here. You wives would understand.

So, it’s currently 7:45 am, Grace and Isaac are doing summer-saults on the couches, Malachi is trying to join them (to no avail and he’s getting made about it), and I have not only posted something, it’s done before the sun is totally up. Malachi will be taking a nap in about 2 hours (if not sooner, if he keeps this screaming up) and hopefully, I’ll get stuff done.

By the way, the “I get up early” gene has skipped one of my children. Maacah is still sleeping and, if left alone, will probably sleep until about 9. Needless to say, I’m leaving her alone this morning. Let’s see. The gene skipped my first born, but got passed to the next 3. So maybe this one it will skip?
