The low down

I am here, just not blogging. I’m reeeaaalllyyy tired. I’m not going into too many details (because all the littles are sleeping and I want to, too), but here is are the “basics” of how our week went.

Monday: I thought Malachi and Nathaniel were wheezing a lot, so I took them to see our doctor, who is 40 minutes away, at 11:30am. Turns out, they were just fine. We don’t leave the clinic until 1pm. A total waste of a day. I went through Maacah’s school stuff and realized that she can skip about half of it. Yay!

Tuesday: We actually did school! And she loved being able to skip pages. Did some much needed cleaning. I took a nap.

Wednesday: Grace tries to help me, but ended up dropping Nathaniel. And we have hard wood floors. He is not as responsive as I wanted to see, so I quickly dropped the 4 older kidos off at my in-laws house and went to the ER. Did a CT scan and everything looks OK. He did get a concussion, though. I finally got to eat something (we were at the ER from 9:30am to 3pm, so I didn’t get any breakfast and no lunch) at McD’s and ate that while I drove back to Crandon to make my 4 o’clock doctor’s appointment (I barely made it). I was home for about 10 minutes, and then we were off to Bible study (we have started a new thing and each week, someone “takes on” making supper for everyone. What a blessing!). We get home at about 9pm and go to bed. Nathaniel sleeps really bad and, subsequently, so do I.

Thursday: I’m really tired because of the lack of sleep and I try to get the laundry done that didn’t get done the day before. My kitchen is a total disaster and I attempt to subdue it. Or at least find my counter tops and un-stick my feet from the floor. Adam is home for lunch and we actually have time to sit and talk with each other. We even laugh. Boy, does that feel good! Lately, for the last month really, we have both felt like two ships who are not even passing in the night. I hate it when that happens! The ocupatonal therapists come and evaluate Nathaniel. They ask “why are we here?”, because he look so good. God is good!!! Nathaniel still sleeps really bad (meaning he refuses to sleep well in his bassinet. But sleeps very well on top of me or next to me).

Friday: We are all healthy enough to go and have lunch with Adam at the VFW (where he does a meal on Fridays). There is still coughing and what not going on, but the children are all getting much better. Adam, Nathaniel and I still have not gotten sick. Thank you Jesus!! We get excellent news that he will only be cooking every other Friday. Woo Hoo! Really, really good news! He’s getting so tired. We make some things for Saturdays’ banquet. Nathaniel sleeps a bit better and only wakes up every 3 hours instead of every 1.

Saturday: We have the “Sweet Heart Banquet” tonight that we are cooking for, about 90 people I think. The theme is “Fiesta Hacienda”. The menu is: Fresh tropical fruit, a choice of ribs with a Mexican BBQ sauce, a marinated chicken, or fish with a lime glaze. A choice of Spanish rice or Roasted red and sweet potatoes. Black beans and roasted corn. Followed with “Tarta Tres Leches” (3 milk cake). We made our own picco de gallo (salsa) this morning and we will be fry our own corn chips later for the tables. We prep and cook all morning…..

Now it’s 2:40pm, Adam is up at the school getting things finished (and somethings started). The children are still asleep, even after all this typing, and I’m going to stretch out here in the recliner and get a bit of snooze for myself, before it’s too late.
