The trenches

Since last Thursday, all 6 children have been sick with vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. Not on the same day unfortunately. Or maybe thankfully. I guess it depends on the way you look at it. 4 of the children became sick early Saturday morning, so between 2 am and 6 am, I was up and down, up and down with the sick ones. Of course, Saturday was the day of our last wedding for the year (as far as we know). We were wondering what do we do with the children? Adam can’t set up, serve, take care of, and break down the buffet without me. Yet we couldn’t take the children when they are sick. So, we asked Grampa and Gramma if they would watch the children and thankfully they said yes.

Damaris has had a fever since Sunday, but she saw the doctor yesterday and all looks fine. Nathaniel has a fever as well, today. And 3 still have diarrhea. So that means we are at home again today.

This, my friends, is what is called “the trenches”. Of course, there are other “trenches” but this is mine right now.
