This week has been….interesting

I think we are finally over all the sickness. I think. I hope. Damaris had a high fever from Tuesday morning until this morning. She is actually smiling now, so I think the worst is over with her. Adam was sick yesterday and while I don’t like him being sick, at least it was on his day off. This week was soooo long! Since Damaris was sick (both with the fever, vomiting and diarrhea), if she was awake she wanted to be in my arms. Don’t get me wrong, I love holding my little girl. It just….well, it became difficult to do much anything else. And so I didn’t. The basics got done, and my older children were great with helping our and stuff, but I didn’t do any of the projects that need to be done around here. That’s not to say that she was never put down and never screamed because of it, but for the most part, I held her. I even slept with her sometimes. But I suppose that’s what Momma’s do. :0)

Awhile ago I mentioned that Adam felt the Lord leading him to pastor a church here, affiliated with the Mission. At the beginning of August, he approached his father (who is the Director) and told him as such. His father, in turn, told the church and they have now just gotten back to us about the whole thing. What they propose is….interesting. Not quite what we were thinking, or what his dad was thinking either. But, it is what they want for now. They compromised (I say compromised because they really want his father to keep preaching, but they know that’s not possible) with Adam and his father taking turns preaching; his dad, then Adam, then his dad, then Adam….. you get the idea. It’s kind-of weird, but I suppose it’s not that unusual. Many churches have more than 1 pastor. So we had our first service together tonight. It went fine. But it was kind-of weird. We will still go the church we have been attending for the last 2 1/2 years. For now, anyway. It makes for a long day since we have 2 services in the morning, then have the church in Carter at night. But we will see how long we can will do both churches.

See? I’m trying to keep this poor blog up-to-date. It may not be riveting and exciting, but at least it’s not being ignored. Right?

I think Damaris is right. It’s time for bed. Good night!
