Crafty crafts

I like to give people things. I honestly don’t care if I get anything in return. I just like to give. I love to see the joy and surprise on people’s faces.

I also really enjoy making things. I love the idea and look of scrapbooking and quilting, but seriously, who has the time? Or the budget? (I know people do, but I’m not one of them.) So when I come across ideas to make things that take little to no investment, other than time, I’m all ears! I have quite the stash of material, buttons, ric-rac, biased tape, etc. so anytime I can use those without having to buy anything, or purchase very little, that gets me excited. My hubby just rolls his eyes at me, but I think deep down he likes the idea that I try and use what we have.

This little site is a gem! It has tons of ideas, tutorials (which is good, ‘cause I’m a visual learner and just words don’t usually help me much.) quilting help, and lots more!

Even though we don’t celebrate Christmas like most people do (we don’t have a tree, lights, decorations, no Santa, Rudolf and the like…but I do have an adorable manger “scene” my MIL got me. And the Children haven’t broken them yet!), we do have a family Christmas party and the cousin’s draw names to see who they are giving a gift to. This year, we all have decided to make the gifts (even though I have always done this). I’m just bursting to get started making gifts for people! Like this, this, and this, oh and this! See what I mean? Aren’t these fabulous?!

Go on! Catch the bug! Get some ideas from these smart ladies and have some fun this year!

Keep in mind, that the “reason for the season” is not to go into debt or to spend much money on gifts when your money should be used elsewhere, in a far more prudent manner. I’m all for giving, trust me. But make your gifts count; make them special. Put some effort into them, some time, some thought….the end result will be far more rewarding than picking something off a shelf and putting it into your cart and StuffMart.
