WIP Wednesday

I like this linking up thing to keep my on track! Or, at least, honest. Winking smile I an linking up with Freshly Pieced.

Actual works in progress:

My Starburst quilt for Damaris is coming along nicely. I’d like to “work ahead”, but I have so much other stuff going on that I’m not going to push it.

I have the squares cut out for my Scrappy Swoon quilt, but I haven’t gotten to it yet. This is from last week addition.

I did get to my Swoon blocks, to put the sashing around each block and to lay it out on my bed to determine the layout. But that’s as far as I got with it.

I have been working on organizing my stash and scraps. They were getting out of control! I am not done by any means, but it’s a good start.

I am “wrapping” my stash, a la fabric store style, to store and to see what I have better. The prints are done and I’m waiting for Adam to make a shelf (in the entertainment center turned fabric holder) for the solids to live on.

I realized when I couldn’t close my scrap drawer anymore, that it was time for some slicing and dicing! I emptied out my “green” drawer and cut pieces into 10”, 5”, 2.5” squares and 2.5’ strips.

The why-am-I-saving-these scraps are behind, with the 10” squares underneath the 5” squares, and the 2.5” squares are in the basket. There isn’t a “before” picture, but trust me. It’s worlds better! (The strips live in another place. I would love them to be here, but there’s not room.)

I am working on the mending portion in my basket. Not my favorite pile.

Projects still waiting for me to continue with:

There are 2 jumper that I’ve had cut out since November for my eldest daughter. I really need to get to them, poor girl.

The above mentioned organizing of my stash and scraps. A bit gets done, then put aside. Then a little more, then ignored again. You know how this goes. It will be a “work in progress yet not worked on” project for awhile.

“Sweet Pea” baby girl quilt and “Little Man” baby boy quilt. They are all cut out and “Sweet Pea” actually has her blocks sewn together. And so they are waiting.

Projects still in the designing/need to be cut stage:

My “quilt for a special lady” quilt

My Pendleton blanket quilt

FMQ sampler quilt, made from cotton muslin that we dyed by natural means last summer (we used Lilac leaves, coffee grounds, tea, Spruce bark, onion peels, etc..)
