A sigh of relief. Maybe?

Thankfully, this week is over!

This week was a mixture of good and bad. Good in the sense that Adam had his first week catering for the County and it went really well! It was so nice to have him home for most of the day and at each meal. We all got accustomed to him being home since he was one vacation for the 2 weeks prior to this week, so it wasn’t as strange as it certainly could have been. The 3 older children LOVED going along with him and I think it will be a great way for them to spend some time with each other. It also shows other people that our children really are a part of our business and we strive to make the apart of our lives. I don’t think that’s very common these days. Granted, many people don’t have the time to do these things with their children with day care and public school and all (which is another reason I’m so thankful that we are able to home school!). But I think there certainly could be more “thinking out of the box” when it comes to spending time with your children .It was also good because we got a new computer. Which mean the old one is for school and the children. I’m really happy about that! They don’t have any computer programs for school at the moment, but it is something I would like to get for the future. We also want them to learn programs like Excel and Money. And if the children want to play computer games (which they are not allowed to do very often), then they are not tying up our computer. Plus, the old one will not have access to the internet! So I don’t feel like I need to be watching them at all times while they are on it.

School flowed really well this week, for which I’m truly grateful. I re-did our schedules (the school schedule, the childrens’ job schedule, and our daily schedule) last weekend and I was a bit nervous on how they would work out. But so far, not too many glitches and I’m happy with the overall effect. There are a few things I need to tweak, but one should expect that. Especially when you are scheduling 4 different grades, 8 people in a general way, and working around your husband’s new job/job hours.

This week was bad in the sense that I have felt horrible for most of it. Wednesday was just awful! But I seem to be turning the corner, so I’m hopeful it will pass. We have had the same bug pass from one person to the next for 4 weeks! We may have a larger-than-normal family at 8 people, but for it to last 4 weeks is ridiculous! Everyone has gotten sick at least twice, some of them 3 or 4 times.

I know it is said that with each subsequent pregnancy that the mother will show earlier with each one. But I was quite unprepared for the bump that seemed to appear over night! I’m not a small lady, in stature or girth, so for me to look pregnant is saying a lot! I don’t wear tight clothes, either. So I’m guessing that the placenta is right there in the front, ’cause the baby is not that big at this point. Or I really am having twins. But I think the former is more likely.

The nausea seems to be lessening, for which I’m grateful. I wish my energy level would go back up, though. There are days when I can take 2 naps during the day and still go to bed on time! It’s crazy and I certainly don’t like the feeling. There are things that need to be done around here, more than just the basics, and I’ve never been one who can sit and do nothing very well. Okay, I can’t do it at all! :0) Even though I fall asleep fairly quickly, I feel guilty for doing so with all of the different items that need to be addressed (like reorganizing the toy cabinet) and the different things that need to be done (like the mound of laundry that needs to be folded and put away). I tell myself that those things either can be done by the older children or they can wait for another time when I have the energy to do them. This usually works. Thumbs up

That’s about all for this week. 9 weeks down, 31 or so more to go! Hopefully, this coming week will find me feeling better.

Jennifer
